The Best Domaining Home Office Computer Set Up?

One thing that I love about domaining and really any type of Internet marketing or web work is that as long as you have a computer and an Internet connection then you can make money from anywhere in the world. I remember years and years ago it was (and still is really) just the coolest feeling for me to think that with something as simple as tapping on a keyboard I could start to make money online by virtue of hard work and smarts alone.

That being said, it is still a lot of fun to “pimp out” your domaining home office computer set up. Here are a couple pictures and some information about my home office set up and then also a picture and link to my all time favorite home office set up. (Also, Shanker Bakshi also has a pretty comprehensive list of images of well known Internet marketers, domainers, and web workers and their home offices).

My Home Office

My home office has 3 30″ Samsung monitors, a Dell T5400 workstation with a quad core processor and 32 gigs of memory, and a really cool adjustable electric “Geek Desk” that adjusts up and down with a touch of a button so that I can work both sitting and standing. I also have a Dell laptop w/ a 17″ screen and 4 gigs of memory that I use when I prefer to work from a different room or on the road (and if I am really in a bind then I can use my wife’s pink Dell laptop which is much newer and nicer than my laptop :) ).

Home Office - Down Position

Down Position: 26″ off of the ground for sitting

Home Office - Up Position

Up Position: 46.5″ off of the ground for working while standing

The Ultimate Home Office

Although I love my home office set up especially because I think that 3 monitors is the sweet spot (this study shows that having 3 monitors increases productivity by 35.5%) and 2 monitors is too hard to concentrate because you have to look at the crack between the 2 monitors and 4 or more monitors is just too distracting I just had to include a picture of Stefan Didak’s home office:

Ok, now that we are all officially in awe of Stefan Didak’s home office – what kind of set up do you have for your home office?

  1. Loving the three monitor setup–very sweet. I have my own 3 monitors, but not 30s. Been wanting to upgrade for a while, but my 23″ and 2 19″ inches have been doing me well, except I haven’t been using the desktop as of lately. Most work is now done in the morning for a good 30 minutes with the good ‘ol laptop :) .

Just bought 2 more LCDs for no apparent reason, but 19″ers… Darn. Now I have the sudden urge to upgrade. Off to look at some computer deals!

Wow, Stefan’s office rocks. Not sure what’s under the hood, but that’s my new goal. I usually have about seven or eight apps running at any give time. I, unlike Stefan have to use the tab key. Time for an upgrade.

And to think I am thrilled with my new “Yard Sale Computer Desk Setup”! Last Saturday I bought the flat monitor for $15 and the TV for $10. They work great! http://twitpic.com/4jc7r

YOU have some SERIOUS setups there! “Wow” is all I can say! Enjoy! Here’s wishing you “High productivity”.

I am loving the geek desk even though I have no reason to work standing up. I run two Hanns.G 22s and a TV. I love it. will like to upgrade the computer but there is really no immediate need for that. On the road I use the BlackBerry and any of my two Toshiba laptops (17″ and 15″) but Mostly the 15″

    Hey geekdesk owners,
I’m thinking about buying a geekdesk. I’m curious how stable the desk is when in standing position? I’m thinking of getting one, and will be placing quite a bit of equipment on it. Worried about front-to-back stability (tipping over), and side to side racking, as well as vibration in general. Thanks for any advice!

Hi John, Sorry for the late reply to your comment as I must have missed this earlier. I am using the Geek Desk in the upright position right now as I type this and I have 3 30″ monitors on it, a mess of other stuff, and I am resting my forearms on it as I type (I weigh 260 lbs lol) and I have never had any problems with stability or rocking at all. I would definitely recommend it (esp for the price)!

    Hi,
That setup looks sweet. How long have you had the GeekDesk? Does it function well with all that weight? ie, does it adjust height easily with that load?
And did you have any problems buying from that organization? (I am unable to get a response from them to my query, so am wondering if they are up-and-up)

Still working great for me! Handling the weight well and I got responses pretty quickly when I emailed them – maybe give them another try!
